OK, that's the correct version! I was just wondering about the incomplete FTP.

After set the Security and Privacy to Anywhere as described above, and install 2.4.4, then run I for the first time. After Finderpop 2.4.4 run, then I can set the Security and Privacy back to allow software installation only from Mac App Store and Identified software developer. Following that Finderpop 2.4.4 will run fine. I think it has to do with sandboxing and security bug in 10.8.2" Similar problem occur with a software call Tidy Up 3.0.3 as well.

It is not a bug but an intentional feature intended to make users think twice before they install or run unsigned software (software by a unidentified developer). You do not need to change security settings, just right-click (or control-click) on the application or installer (or in this case the preference pane) and choose "Open" from the contextual menu. You will get a different dialog that will offer the choice to use the unsigned software.

I was one of those who experienced multiple application crashes with 2.4.5, including SpellCatcher which would try to restart itself and then recrash over and over again, preventing doing anything else. I was able to delete 2.4.5 in Safe Mode and then reinstalled 2.4.4. This morning I saw that 2.4.6 was available and installed it for all users (previous version was for me only) and restarted with fingers crossed. Everything started normally again. Thank you for the quick fix. FP is indispensable for me.

But again it does not work in applications like TextEdit and Preview, not in unused menu bar and not in upper left corner of the screen.

I had FP installed for this user only. After I removed it and installed it again for all users, FP now works fine with sandboxed applications like TextEdit.

Turly,

version 2.4.6 works fine now in 10.7.5. Again thanks for FP, I think I’ve forgotten how to operate a Mac without it!
