FinderPop Works on El Capitan

Just uninstall and then install 2.5.6 (There may be other steps like disabling SIP, etc.)

I'm happy to help if you can't get it working.

Alas disabling SIP is a step too far for most people.
And there are rumours that the "SIP Disable" feature will be removed when 10.11 is released later this month.
I'm sticking to Mavericks on my machine at the moment. Mind you, I was still running OS 9 + FinderPop on my iMac in 2005!

On El Capitan, FP does NOT work when you control-click something in the Finder. Or rather, it "works" too well - the Finder's contextual menu items do not show up in the menu.
I will hopefully have a bit of time this weekend to work on this, fingers crossed I can get it working. But again, the need to disable SIP is a big no-no for all but the most die-hard of users.

Does SIP need to be disabled and remain disabled for FP to work? Apparently some applications like cDock or Bartender need to have SIP disabled at initial installation, but will continue to work when SIP is again enabled after installation.

This is why I'm not a big fan of beta software ;)

I installed EC on my late-2012 iMac for a bit and when I invoked FinderPop, the system froze to the point of a hard restart. EC is now "gone like a wild goose in Winter". Very happy with Mavericks as I use FinderPop daily and have since the days of OS8. The brief time I spent with El Capitan didn't impress me.

I'm not sure this is directly applicable but Dropbox has a contextual menu item under 10.11 that works without disabling/enabling SIP like you need to do for Bartender. I imagine it's more complicated than that but any ray of hope of keeping this incredibly useful piece of software working...

Thanks Turly!

That's very likely to be just a Finder Sync Extension contextual menu item unfortunately ... Finder Sync Extensions were added by Apple to allow the Finder to be more clever about remote storage and syncing of files/folders.

Not really applicable to FinderPop unfortunately.

Installed fine once SIP disabled following the "Bartender instructions". Unfortunately, once installed and then SIP enabled, it does not. Bartender does work once enabled as does cDock supposedly.

Good thing is that FP was quicker for me.

From what I've read in various forums and discussions, it doesn't seem like having to disable SIP is going to be much of a deal-breaker for most advanced/power users when it comes to using apps...especially apps that users deem essential to their everyday workflow (as FP is for me and a lot of others here).

I'm an avid FP user but not very technically sophisticated. Will FP work if I upgrade to El Capitan? Thanks.
