2.2.2 "thrillseekers beta" - no effect in my system

I am testing the beta on a core 2 duo (1.83 ghz) mini running Snow Leopard 10.6.1. I initially installed the beta on top of 2.2, logged out and tried FP, but got no FP menu in the menubar, with a right-click or by clicking on a folder. I then deleted the pref. pane and reinstalled - again no FP menu. I checked to make sure that my FP items folder was still there with items; it was so that's not the problem. Perhaps I misunderstood and FP won't work in any Finder context right now because FP doesn't work yet with 64 bit apps. The one change I do notice is the bringing up the pref. pane no longer requires me to restart System Preferences.

On My Mac it does work in the menu bar but as Turly said only in 32 bit apps. I have set Mail and Safari and Text Edit (plus Word already is) to open in 32 bit mode. So as long as I am in those applications I can click in the menubar and FP is active! But it will not work in the Finder. Thus I cannot move or copy files in the Finder using FP yet.

cat has it exactly right. None of the 64-bit apps support Carbon, which FinderPop uses quite a lot to do its stuff. I'm working on it...

FP doesn't work on my iMac (32 bit), but it also doesn't seem to work on my MacBook which supposedly is 64 bit. I'm sure that Turly will get this up and running eventually. One odd behavior I noticed on iMac, is when I Control/Click/Eject on a dmg it makes an alias on the Desktop instead of ejecting it. I have to physically drag the dmg to the Trash to eject it. I am going to disable FP for awhile. See you later old friend.

Have to agree with Baba. With beta 3, cannot get the FP menu in the Finder or any 64 bit app.

See the 2.2.3 thrillseekers beta for (limited) 64-bit app support. This currently means only click-in-unused-menubar and ctrl-cmd-click a Finder window for a Contents popup.
Still working on "proper" contextual menu support ... hopefully will have a first cut sometime next weekend...

Sorry, Turly, I AM using 2.2.3 beta not 2.2.2., and I cannot get the FP menu in the menubar in the Finder or 64 bit applications.

Hey cat - did FP 2.2.3 install itself OK? You restarted or logged out and back in again?

Did any unusual FinderPop messages appear in Console.app?

I just uninstalled FP 2.2.3 from my system. Re-installed. Still no FP menus in the Menubar or in 64 bit applications. And there are no unusual FP messages in the console.

Suddenly it just started working but now I have the same effect as Francola : 'Initially, the click on unused portion of menu bar functions as expected, but after clicking around a bit I have found a bug that causes the FinderPop menu to appear in place of the normal Finder menu when clicking on file, edit, view, go etc.'
